Educational Opportunity
KWCP recognizes that the skills and knowledge of its employees are critical to the success of the organization. The APEX program is an assessment and training program for existing employees, new hires and provides for and administrates an apprenticeship program. These programs encourage employees to improve their skills and potential by successfully completing approved courses of study at schools of recognized standing.
Certificates and Diplomas
- A machine operator certificate is available through either Forsyth Tech or Rockingham Community College. Other programs must be approved in advance.
- Industrial Systems Technology and Electrical/Electronics Technology diplomas are available. Other programs must be approved in advance.
- High school diploma or GED, and 6 months experience plus manager’s approval required to enroll. Community College entrance requirements vary.
- Tuition and fees will be reimbursed upon completion of each class at 100% if C average and 90% attendance are achieved. Books will be reimbursed at 50% and remain the employee’s property upon completion of the class.
- KWCP works with employees enrolled in this program to accommodate class time around working hours.
- Upon successful completion of a program, employees receive a merit increase, dependent on the program.
